My dear friend Jientje came up with a wonderful meme called A Thousand Words In Idioms and despite I haven't been able to join her all the time, I really enjoy this meme because it taught me a lot of new idioms in very creative photo shots. Today I just found out that this meme will come to an end. Jientje said, "There are only two Wednesday Idioms left after this". So I will try my best to participate in these editions, even if it means that I have to dig into my old blog photo archives. Since flowers are one of my greatest passion, I thought that flower idioms will be my theme for this week.
Here we go...
Meaning: If you gild the lily, you decorate something that is already ornate.Meaning: If someone deserves a bouquet of orchids, they have done something worthy of praise.Meaning: If things come up roses, they produce a positive result, especially when things seemed to be going badly at first.
