The Perfect Mother Day Gift

Tuesday, December 22, 2009
Did you know that tomorrow is Mother's Day in Indonesia? I think I already have received the perfect mother day gift .

Today my 9 year old daughter asked me to escort her to a Strawberry store after school, because she wanted to buy something with her own savings. But when we finally arrived she asked me to wait outside and took her 5 year old brother inside the store. It took the two about 20 minutes before they came outside again with a grinning smile on their faces. "Here, Mom." the older one said. "You can't open it 'til tomorrow. Promise." That's when it finally hit me. Tomorrow is MOTHERS DAY! How could I forget this?! Silly me did my own mother day gift search for my mother after that . But I think nothing can beat the perfect mother day gift I already received right now. It is not the lovely package sitting on my night stand, waiting to be opened tomorrow morning. No. It is the sweet thought and effort these sunshines went through to give me the perfect mother day gift.

How sweet and thoughtful your kids are. I think that is just wonderful and shows you perfectly the kind of upbringing they are receiving. That is just wonderful. Now for the stupid question. Mother's Day here is in May so it's December 22nd in Indonesia? I am so anxious to hear what they got for you...Much aloha my friend :)

@Marzie: TY, my dear :)
@Anya: I just realized that we are the only ones celebrating here in Indonesia. TY :)
@James: Happy holidays to you :)
@Susan: TY. I didn't know that we are the only ones celebrating here in Indonesia ;)
@Thom: Yes, I just found out that there were date differences. It turns out that The Indonesian Women Congress (Kowani) had declared this day as Mother Day on December 22th, 1938 when Indonesia was still fighting for the National Independence. It is said that it was one historical point for the movement of Indonesian women. I'll try to post a photo of the beautiful bag I received :)
@Quilly: TY :). I really hope so.
