RIP Dr John
I began this morning with some heartbreaking news. Dr. John from Dr. John's Fortress, Dr. John's Wordplay, The Dragon's Lair, and Pigeon Falls has passed away on February 15th, 2010.

Although I might not have been interacting with him as much as other friends, he is one of the people who has left his footprints in my heart. I know that he was a wonderful soul with a great sense of humor and a witty mind. You could see it all over his blogs and in his comments. Words seemed to be one of his greatest passions and he was very good at it. This is my first loss in the Blogosphere and it feels so sad. I know that many of us feel the same, and even more.

My heartfelt sympathy and deepest condolences go out to his family, especially his wife Betty, his children and grandchildren. I hope they'll have the strength to carry on in Dr. John's loving memories. It would be lovely, if you could visit her at Betty's News to give some comfort. Thank you.

My friend Thom has set up a guest book to be presented to Dr. John's family.
It would be great to get as many people as we can to sign it.

Thanks for every visit and comment to Music of My Life.
Keep a song in your heart.

Dr. John has two sons, Peter and Luke, and a daughter, Pennie. I know you didn't mean to exclude them, you probably just hadn't heard about them. Bill, who posted above, has Dr. John's official obituary posted on his blog.

Very sad. I've seen him perform. Once I saw him sitting at a table near me and he appeared to be shaking. He seemed ill back then. Still when he performed he was wonderful.

I love the quote you included by his portrait. It is one of my favorites.
Dr. John was filled with wisdom, wit, and so much imagination. He will be missed.
