The Muffed Target 9

This week's photo for Thom's Muffed Target taken over from Gattina @gattina-keyholepictures.blogspot.com is presented to you by my son (again). But, this time he has switched his place as model to go behind the lens. My old camera has been handed over to my kids, you know. They can grab the camera, whenever they like.

Sometimes, the kids like to shot whatever comes into mind. I don't know the reason my son loves to take photos of TV shows on air. But, he sure takes a lot of them. Many lead to muffed targets, but please don't ask me why. I have no idea. My guess is ray interference from the TV? Well, what do I know.

Anyway, the photo above is one of my son's close up shots. He had added stickers all over the TV case. You would see these stickers framing almost every inch of the display border, if the boy had taken a few steps backwards. We had him remove all the stickers from the TV soon after that. Almost all... There are still five left on the left border.

Create or Delete Facebook Friends List

Did you know that you could create or delete a Facebook friends list? I just made a few lists to make it easier for me to follow my friends' Newsfeeds by certain categories. For example: Family, Bloggers, Writers etc. I think it is a good way to get more view on the feeds, especially if you have many friends.

Here are the steps to create a new friends list on Facebook:
  1. Go to your Account menu on the top right corner of the Facebook toolbar.
  2. Select Edit Friends from the Account menu.
  3. Select Create New List.
  4. Enter a Name. Any name that you like to describe this list.
  5. Choose the friends you want to have on your list by selecting them.
  6. Select Create List (or Cancel to abort).
  7. The list will show on your left sidebar.

To delete a friends list on Facebook:
  1. Go to your Account menu on the top right corner of the Facebook toolbar.
  2. Select Edit Friends from the Account menu.
  3. Select the list you want to delete on the left sidebar.
  4. Select Delete List on top of the box, below the search box. You will be asked the following: "Are you sure you want to delete this list? This cannot be undone."
  5. Select Delete List again.

End of August Blog Awards 2010

It really made my day to start this week with some lovely blog awards. I think that it is a wonderful gesture that you can give to a special friend or person in this Blogosphere. Thank you so much for thinking of me.

On August 28th, Jingle told me through the comment section of my post "Castle of Love | Thursday Poetry Rally 27" that I had received three awards from the Jingle's Friendship Means A World 2 Me series. Thank you. I would like you to have the Make My Heart Smile award.

Rules:
Take 3 of your choice and pass them to 1 to 10 friends.

I'm actually not good at picking choices like this, but fortunately I got help when three other wonderful awards arrived. All of them were also received from Jingle by three other friends. So, here they are:

The Butterfly Award
I'm passing it on to my daughter @Amalia's Heart,
ThoughtsNotLost and all my friends
who give me an inspiration to fly.

The Friends are The Best Award
thanks to ThoughtsNotLost
from the same comment section like Jingle

I'm passing it to
Amanda @ Bloggin'withAmanda and Christine @ i brew haiku!
and all of my lovely blogging friends who are standing by me

And last but not least
The Best Weekly Photo Award
thanks to Christine @ i brew haiku!

I'm passing it to all of my blogging friends who love photography
and have uploaded an inspiring photo this week.

I hope all of you know who you are :).
Feel free to pick one of these blog awards.

Celine Dion: I'm Alive | Mobile Musical Monday

This week's theme, mobile music, could have been easier for me. I had already in mind to open my mobile playlist and pick up the most favorite song, when I actually found out that it was empty. Well, not that empty... But, all of my favorite songs where replaced with Music DJ Demos and records made by some unknown artists: My kids recording their demos and voices. Overall it were strange noises. LOL

Of course, this left me totally blank. I do remember some of the songs on my playlist, but unfortunately all of them were already shared on previous Music Mondays. So, the next best thing that I could do was to search for a song that definitely would become a part of my new mobile playlist.

Celine Dion always was one of my favorite singers. I practically grew up with her songs. Yesterday I was reminded of her second hit single I'm Alive from the album A New Day Has Come, when we were watching her Live Las Vegas Show on DVD. The song was also featured as soundtrack of the movie Stuart Little 2. I hope you'll enjoy listening to it. Raising spirits high, feel alive!

The Perfect Poet Award 4 Week 27 | Blossom

Perfect Poem AwardThanks to Jingle.
Here
's my acceptance poem:

BLOSSOM

Traces of imperfection pierce our way
Set frictions to light day by day
At times hearts freeze, turn motionless
Missing out on little pieces of happiness

Thaw into Gaia, take a closer look around
Colorful rays shimmer to break the bound
Embrace the warmth for a sweet escape
Come into flower to strive a new take

~RA

Rules to Accept the Award:

* Put the logo on your blog before or on your next Thursday post.
* Post a poem (or a Haiku) under the logo.
* Tag Jingle to link back to Thursday Poets’ Rally Award Post.
* Nominate One Previous Participants and U R done!

I have read many beautiful and inspiring poems, while joining Jingle's Thursday Poets Rally 27. Each poet that I've visited has given to me a new and unique experience. Many messages came through my display, which made everyone a perfect poet to me... Thank you.

To be truth, I almost never pick one particular person to pass on my awards. Not that I'm not passing them on, but it just feels too difficult for me to pick one single person among so many inspiring people.

Anyway, this time I think that I can make an exception. My friend Amanda at Bloggin' With Amanda had shared the poem Seven with me, before I knew that I was invited to the rally. The poem felt like an beautiful insight. Deathpoet88, the author, just announced a blogging break. By giving a nomination on this award, I hope that there will be a comeback and a chance to see more poems with this inspiring creativity. Have a wonderful week, everyone.

Castle of Love | Thursday Poetry Rally 27

Thanks for the invite to our host Jingle

CASTLE OF LOVE

Blinded through desire
Beaten by race of time
Deaf to the pace of serenity
Moments fade away to rush

Spirits behold of silence
As sun sets on sphere each day
Seek rest within fortress of soul
Find love, find a way home

The Muffed Target 8

It's getting harder to take a photo of my boy now, because he likes to move fast and teases me on purpose to see the blurred effects on my camera. In this photo, he was waving his Power Ranger toy in front of me. Well... on the bright side, I might have a good model for Thom's Muffed Target taken over from Gattina @gattina-keyholepictures.blogspot.com. That is, IF I can catch him on camera. Did I mention that he is fast?

Facebook Bug: Sorry, An Error Has Occurred

Okay, I have officially joined my friends who have been experiencing trouble to access their Facebook accounts. If, you receive a message like this on your screen:

Sorry, an error has occurred.
We're working on getting this fixed as soon as we can.
Go Back.

just remind yourself that you're not alone. The problem seems to be a bug that hasn't been permanently solved by the Facebook team yet. Hopefully they will come up with an answer soon.

I have three browsers and neither one worked for three accounts of our family members, when this error occurred. Nope, it didn't work on mobile phone either. Based on Google search, many other people failed to fix the problem by a change of browser. So, I'm guessing it's not because of the browsers. Spare your time from changing them.

It only took less than one hour for me to sign into my account again. According to what I have read, people have been dealing with this issue between a couple of hours to several days. I have also experienced by myself that you can try to refresh your page, if this message shows up while you are signed in into your account. It worked for me. May be for you, too.

Don't worry, it is said that your friends still can see your feed and the account is still there. My NetworkedBlogs application still published this post automatically on my wall like set before.

This post will be updated, if I find more solutions for this Facebook bug. May be you could let me know, if you come up with something else? Thank you.

Curtis Mayfield: Move On Up | Music Monday

When I browsed for optimistic songs, I came upon Move On Up by Curtis Mayfield and loved what I heard. The song written by the singer himself was taken from track 5 of his debut album in 1970 called Curtis (track samples and review for special edition).

Sorry for the poor visual quality, but I couldn't find a better video. If you come on a greater version, please let me know. Well... actually I found a few videos with better visuals, but I couldn't hear the awesome sound of instruments and see these talented children play music. So, I decided to go for this one. Just listen to the music and lyrics to feel soul all the way. Have an uplifting week, everyone.

Take That: Shine | Music Monday

I was actually searching for a song about patience, when I came upon Take That songs and was reminded of how much I loved listening to their music back in the 90's. But, until now I never had listened to any songs after Robbie Williams departure and the band's official break up in 1996. Shine is the second single from their comeback album "Beautiful World" without Williams.

I really love the uplifting lyrics and rhythm of the song that was released on 26 February 2007. Becoming curious about what the band had been up to for these past years, I was quite enthusiastic to find out that they decided to rejoin again with Williams and will release a new album at the end of this year. Have a shiny week, everyone.

The Man Without A Name | Portrait of Words 31

Thanks to Thom

He was a man without a name, almost invisible and unnoticed for his passion to play music according to his own tunes. The few fellows, who listened to his performance, recognized that he was actually quite talented and refreshing. But others were just ignoring him all the time. He could have played in a kilt, and most of the people still would have gone by. Change seemed to be out of question, because they were used to go along with the same old songs.

BagPiper

Nonetheless, these challenging circumstances never managed to pull the man’s spirit down. He was always standing behind his tunes and believes, responsible for every part and move, eager to walk on water or even to drive on water if only it was possible for him.

1242150836

Alas, this state of mind was regarded as weird and obnoxious by authority and others. Tunes that were considered out of context or too loud were rewarded with ugly scars or even broken legs. It was scary to witness what people could do towards someone who was being different. Why so much cruelty against an unknown man?

1260805868

The poor guy was not even aware about what was lying ahead of him. He would soon have to deal with an unfortunate occurrence. Being water under the bridge, something that is over and done with.

1238963923

He sure didn't expect that a man without a name could lose his head, just because of triggering the nerve of a powerful personality by some harmless tunes.

F4

But, that's exactly what happened. The man was buried at the border of the city without even someone caring… and soon he was forgotten, if ever remembered. It was like he never had existed before.

1260808112-1copy

May be at another time or another century or another planet, someone will remember the man without a name. May be then and only then, he will be appreciated as someone with significance. A man who stood for his believes and was not afraid to play his own tunes. A man who was minding his own business, but still got on someone arrogant nerves. There will be this time, I hope... or we might be lost forever. Vanished without a trace, like him.

R Kelly: The Storm Is Over Now | Music Monday

Life might not always be bright. You've got to be ready for a change of weather from time to time... But at the end, I hope we'll be able to say that The Storm Is Over Now like R Kelly in the following song. I love the beautiful lyrics and visualization in the video. Have a bright and wonderful time, everyone.

Homecoming

Restless heart, settle on peace.
Be blessed to say: “I’m coming home.”

PS. I just realized that I was confusing syllables with words in my haiku, thanks to Jenn's sweet comment. So here is an updated version of the previous one above going by the real rules.

Restless heart, seek peace.
Bliss is in “I’m coming home.”
At each end of day.
