Choices, choices, choices! The problem is that you never can be hundred percent sure, if the path you chose is really the right one for you or not. But, golden opportunities do exist. So, don't be afraid to make a move and take some chances. That's what I try to tell my mind and heart. Good things might come your way with good thoughts and a good attitude toward life. I believe that we learn to become wiser by each step that we take. It's a transition for the better, I hope. I'm standing at an open gate, ready to take a leap.

Paul Cézanne's Google Doodle for 172nd Birthday

First of all, what is Google Doodle? Basically it is a sketch or drawing occasionally made to decorate  Google's official logo on their homepage for certain celebrations, like holidays, popular birthdays or anniversaries. They are applied only in certain countries or globally, depending on the occasion to celebrate.

On January 19, 2011 Paul Cézanne's Google Doodle was released globally for his 172nd Birthday. He was a famous French painter who laid the foundation of Cubism developing into modern art, inspiring well-known artists like Picasso.

Paul Cézanne's Google Doodle was originally created by Mike Dutton as real oil painting and furthermore  transformed digitally. Just look at the beauty of this artwork. Wonderful tribute, don't you think?

If you have been away from home for a long time or are searching for a moment of peace, the song "Home" by Dishwalla is dedicated to you. These are the opening words of  J.R. Richards, the vocalist, in the following life performance video. I really think that his voice, the song lyrics and music may give you some time to escape from the hectic of life. I always consider home as a place of warmth and a place to energize.

Dishwalla is an American alternative rock band that released their first album "Pet Your Friends" in 1995.  The third single "Counting Blue Cars" hit great success and was chosen as Best Rock Song of 1996. Some of their songs have been featured as movie soundtracks, like "Home" in "The Banger Sisters (2002)"  starring Goldie Hawn plus Susan Sarandon, and "Truth Serum" in "The Avengers (1998)" starring Ralph Fiennes, Uma Thurman plus Sean Connery. TV shows like Charmed, Smartville and The OC also used Dishwalla's songs in their episodes.

Being deceived by someone you care and trust might hurt like crazy. It reveals a true face behind the mask that you have never expected before. Your bubbles of trust burst into thin air. How could someone so close be that cruel to you? Like it or not, these are some of the facts to deal in life. But, why shed precious tears for a person who doesn't even care about your feelings? It is exhausting and not worth at all. Just look at the bright side that now you should have become aware about a deceitful character to be erased from the past or at least to be put into boundaries. Surround yourself with healthy relationships. Family and friends who really care. Life will be much more brighter.

N-Dubz ft. Bodyrox: We Dance On, Street Dance OST Lyrics #MM

There are those days in life where you just inevitably have to face all pressures and tribulation coming into your way. Hell yeah, they might be tough to deal with. But, it doesn't mean that you won't be able to stand strong on your feet to reach out for goals and dreams.

In the 80's to 90's, I would be referring to the song "Get On Your Feet" by Gloria Estefan for a situation like this. It is a beautiful song with uplifting beat that belongs to the music of my youth and has a special place in my heart. This week the lyrics of "We Dance On" performed by N-Dubz ft. Bodyrox from the original soundtracks of the movie Street Dance 3D (2010) have me moving for similar reasons. You might be bruised up with scars to heal, tossed into sleepless nights because of some frustration torturing body and soul... But, at the end you gotta stand up like a soldier and take control over your life. Take time to find a way and see that everything's gonna be okay. So let's dance on, everyone.

N-Dubz is a British hip-hop group that released their debut album "Uncle B" in November 2008.  The members are Greek cousins Dino Contostavlos aka 'Dappy' and Tula Contostavlos aka 'Tulisa', plus school friend Richard Rawson aka 'Fazer' or 'Faze' who met at the age of 13. Being raised in a hard environment might be one of the reasons that lead them into controversial cases around bullying, violence and drug abuse that I strongly disapprove of if convicted true. Nonetheless the lyrics of their song "We Dance On" feel inspiring and have received positive critics in the music industry. The song is a collaboration with Bodyrox, a name for English house music DJ duo Jon Pearn and Nick Bridges. This following video does not feature any of the artists performing the song.

Doldrums | Sensational Haiku Wednesday

Doldrums

Sick and tired of all.
Can you bear a jaded heart?
Retrieve strength once more.

First of all you might be curious about the meaning of doldrums. To be honest, I actually never have heard about this word before. It's a good thing that Jenn gave us some explanation on her blog or I would be at a total lose. I also tried to google for doldrums. Turns out that you can define it as a depressed or bored state of mind; a state of inactivity or stagnation.

Well, let me just say that for the past one and a half month this word was a perfect description for me. Being temporary crippled by a fractured leg, I had no entertainment than to read, read and read or watch, watch and watch television. Don't get me wrong. I love to read and occasionally watch television. But if you got stuck on a bed for so long, even your greatest hobbies can get to a point where enough is enough. I was sick and tired of all. And, on top of this... I was yearning for my family! If only my leg had fully recovered by the time I was allowed to go home again, I definitely would jump up and down to express my joy.

So, how can you bear a jaded heart? I know there is no definite answer. Everyone might have their own way to lift up the spirit of the heart. Getting out of boredom or depression is not always easy. But one thing is for sure, you gotta retrieve strength once more. Without strength, it would be hard to accomplish anything. I believe that company of beloved family and friends is one of the best medications to help you out of doldrums. At least, it works for me.

Tamar Kaprelian: New Day Lyrics #MM

I'm still in new year mood. It's the first month and there already have been so many turns and decisions to make in my life. I just hope that they all will end up for the better. Becoming a refreshing new start towards bliss and happiness this whole year through.

That's why the lyrics of "New Day" performed by Tamar Kaprelian have me moving this week. It's those decisions to make that sometimes leave you in the dark. Should I go for it or not... Is it actually good or bad... Where should I turn to? Oh, so confusing! Don't you think?

Well, like it or not some things just can't be avoided. There is a point in life where change is necessary or even good. Don't let time keep slipping through your hands, because of endless hesitation. After all, you can't just stand still and do nothing. Take a step forward. The sun shines after the rain, that's for sure. Even though, it may take longer than you have expected or you are willing to accept. Don't give up and try to heal the scars. If it's someone or something haunting your mind, my experience says that you will feel much more relieved from the minute you are able to let go. I know that's easier said than done. But once you get there, it's worth all the effort. Just leave your burdens in the past. Find a suitable way for you and with it a brand new start. Let's embrace the new days of 2011, everyone. I hope it will be a great year for us.

It's another new year and a new chapter to begin. Let's look forward to all the possibilities that might open the doors for us. After all it's difficult to move on, if you are stuck in the past. Release yourself from the demons inside. It might be easier for you to get the spirits high without something or someone dragging you down to the lowest point. This is like a vow that I try yo make to myself within every change that comes in a New Year. A resolution to become better in every new step. Whatever may come along.

You might say, "Oh no, not another new year resolution!" But, yeah... I really love to reflect. So what, if you break some of your own goals? At least you have some determination to reach for something. Who knows, it might actually be a dream that comes true.

A Mouthful Of ... | The Muffed Target 18

My son had stuffed a mouthful of ... into his cheeks. You actually should be able to recognize what he was eating, because some of it was still in his right hand. But, alas he moved when I pushed the camera trigger and everything got blurred. I'm telling you, he really likes to do this on purpose just to tease me. Well, have you figured out what he eats?

Let me give you some clue. It is a bar of moist sprinkled with small bushy deciduous tree fruits. I think it's quite funny, how a simple thing can sound quite complicated like this. Do you have an answer yet?

Yup, you are right! It is a mouthful of almond brownies. LOL

I would have so many other options to show, if only I didn't forget to delete my messed up photos at an instant all the time. It's an automatic routine that I can't get rid of until now. You take a shot, look into the camera display, and continue to the delete button when not satisfied. That's too bad, cause Muffed Targets can be so funny and interesting. I promised to myself that I will get better in the future to participate on this meme.

This is my first Musical Monday for 2011, and my first post after a one month blogging break due to a broken fibula with knee injury that still needs physiotherapy. So, I thought to search for an energetic song to give New Year a boost and soar my spirits high. Add some great rhythm to love and you got the right formula for me. Because, I truly believe that positive love will get you through anything. Thanks to all my family and friends for blessing me with your love.
