Music & Musical Monday: Tears In Heaven (Eric Clapton)

Monday, September 14, 2009

Thanks for the upload aspirinsmoke

There were a lot of songs coming to my mind for heartbreak, but here's my choice this week for Music & Musical Monday: Tears In Heaven by Eric Clapton. This is a Wikipedia link where you can read the story behind his touching song. Did you know that it was a way to release Eric's pain on his 4 year old son's death?

I'm wishing you all a lot of joy and blessings in life, but whenever there might be a reason that brings you down: just remember Eric's advice to be strong and carry on!

Rosidah, this is one song that I simply can't listen to without crying. It might not be quite so bad if I didn't know the story behind it but because I do, it makes me cry every time I hear it. Great choice!

Perfect song for Heartbreak. Amazing Clapton could write and sing such a beautiful song out of such a terrible tragedy.

This is a beautiful song Rosidah, wish I'd known there were themes at Musical Mondays. I'll try to check it out later and see what's the theme for next week.

Hi Rosidah, Such a heartfelt song and great choice for this week's theme. Thank you so much for your kind comment on my blog. My husband is not well and I need a little time to rest but I will still be visiting with you. Such a sweet thing for you to say you miss my posts already; blog friends are the very best.

Hi Rosidah, That is a very sad song... I had a friend many years ago who loved Eric Clapton --and told me about ALL of his songs including this one. It's a tear-jerker for sure.

Hugs,
Betsy

Ooooh yes, wonderful song. So sad he wrote this because of his own loss.
