Natural Disaster | The Muffed Target 17

Tuesday, October 26, 2010

It has been heavily raining for several days in Indonesia and some of the parts in our country have been flooded. I decided to take a shot of the cold weather on October 21th, 2010 here in my town. But, I forgot to leave out the flash and the above photo was the result. It supposed to look like the photo below.

cold weather

Lately, our country has been dealing with many natural disasters and I hope that it will come to an end soon. Humans are no match to the forces of natures.  Many people are suffering from great losses.

A tragic flash flood happened in Wasior on October 5th, 2010.  It is said that the death toll reached 144 death and 161 missing, but I'm sure that there actually are much more.

Yesterday, Indonesia has also been hit by another tsunami and earthquake in Mentawai, Sumatera. According to the latest news I saw on Metro TV there are 108 death and 520 people missing.

There is also going on a possible eruption of the Merapi volcano in Central Java. Residents around the area are already on evacuation. It has been reported on television that people began to panic, because a few minutes ago at 17.02 WITA the mount began to vomit even more volcanic ashes, hot flames and materials.

My heartfelt sympathy and deepest condolences go out to all the victims and families. Hopefully these situations will soon be over. Please, send some prayers and good thoughts. Thank you.

I feel very touched by Amanda @ Blogginwithamanda and Thom, our host, who have been trying to contact me as soon as they found out about the earthquake in Mentawai. I'm thankful and blessed to say that me and my family are alright and unharmed. The source was not that near from my town. Take good care, everyone.

rosidah, i heard about the tsunami on the news. that was really unfortunate. we have been getting our own dose of natural disasters here in the philippines. one super typhoon after another. flooding everywhere. i am hoping and praying though that the devastation that 2 typhoons did last year won't ever happen again.

i'm happy to know that you and your family are safe. God bless!{{{hugsss}}}

much love,

Boy my friend, Mother Nature sure does affect your area quite a bit. I'm just glad that you and your family are all okay. I wish that everyone else was so fortunate and it's sad to hear that there are many suffering. My thoughts and aloha go out to all of them. Your picture is something I would do. Isn't it amazing how much you have to remember to do when taking a simple picture? LOL. Perfect for this my friend. Again I'm so glad you are all okay. Thanks so much for playing. I really appreciate it :)

I watched the news this morning and was overwhelmed by the news of devastation in your part of the world.
I'm glad you and your family are safe.

Your muffed target photo looked, to me, like a tent in a storm (probably because we were camping in August when a huge storm hit). It's amazing how different everything looks in the light vs. the darkness.

Rosidah - my prayers for Indonesia -- so much sadness in the midst of so much beauty. I hope that many will see the kindness and love of God in this, rather than turn from Him.

Regarding your photo -- it looked like some alien craft was trying to land. I immediately thought of Thom and his obsession with Star Trek! Thank you for sharing!

I'm sorry to hear about the disasters, Rosidah. S'pore has been badly affected by the haze coming from Indonesia too, so I can imagine how bad it can be at your side.

Most importantly, u & your family are well & living happily. Let's pray hard for those victims.
