Thanks to Jenn for this week's theme
Resolutions
See new horizons.
Forget shadows of the past.
Let's make a fresh start.
~RA
It's another new year and a new chapter to begin. Let's look forward to all the possibilities that might open the doors for us. After all it's difficult to move on, if you are stuck in the past. Release yourself from the demons inside. It might be easier for you to get the spirits high without something or someone dragging you down to the lowest point. This is like a vow that I try yo make to myself within every change that comes in a New Year. A resolution to become better in every new step. Whatever may come along.
You might say, "Oh no, not another new year resolution!" But, yeah... I really love to reflect. So what, if you break some of your own goals? At least you have some determination to reach for something. Who knows, it might actually be a dream that comes true.
Wishing you all the best for 2011. Wanna share some of your New Year Resolutions with us?
Haiku is simple!
It is 3 non-rhyming lines of 5, 7, and 5 syllables respectively
(a great way to use your fingers!)
I don't create poetry, I create myself,
for me my poems are a way to me.
~Edith Södergran
Keep a poem in your heart.
17 appreciated note(s):
A beautiful haiku and beautiful sentiments to follow.
Happy New Year to you and your family. May your wishes come true. Thanks for being a lovely friend. Take care.
Simple and true, and not as easy as it sounds... but so worth doing. Well said!
By the way, I updated today's post to reflect the new word for next week. I'm such a dummy - I forgot!!
Happy New Year :)
Rosidah,
Yes, forget the past, the challenge is what's ahead! Very good haiku!
A very uplifting, thought provoking haiku :O)
Beautiful Haiku my friend. The middle line is the bomb!!! :) I don't make resolutions for the pure and simple reason I never keep 'em LOL Have a good one :)

Great haiku! I love the fresh start that comes with 2011 :)
Great Haiku and I love the thoughts after also. It IS hard to let go of the past!
Great poes! And yes - letting go of the -past is hard sometimes.
I hope we all have the opportunity to keep these words in mind throughout the years Rosidah!

The haiku was good -- the post that followed it was even better. It is hard to move on and evolve and grow if one stays chained to the past -- especially if one can't learn from his/her failures and continue striving.
Forgetting shadows. My professional forte! Or, at least, I try.
New horizons - what a wonderful way to think of it!
Fresh start...that's what I need!
