Back in 2005, my son was still very scared of the waters. It took a lot of effort just to get him near any watery scene. He would scream, cry and run away. I can say that the view below was one of his more relaxed moments in the secure hands of a family friend on Anyer Beach, Indonesia. I hope you can notice his expression. It might become more evident when you zoom the photo by clicking it.
Now, try to compare the scene with this latest expression. I took the photo at his first swimming lesson in the big pool, just a while ago.
Quite a difference, don't you think! So, my point here is that it may take you time to overcome some of your fears. It might even take years to really put them aside. But, please don't give up on hope and keep on trying. In this case, it took over four years, and look how happy he is now.

Yes, I agree with you. Nice post, thank you.
I am drawn to your friend's expression in the first photo! He is so patient, helping your little guy with his fear!
Great shots. Your son is adorable. I really like the first shot. It says so much.
Smaller kids are almost always scared of being in the big space of the water/ocean, but as they grow older and bring them in to the water, am sure it'd be so hard to pull them out of it. :)
That photo is priceless so much care and love shows there
I love the way you have told a very special story with these photos. As they say, a picture tells a thousand words.

I also had similar experience with my son who was scared of water. Now he loves swimming. As correctly said patience of the parents is the motivating factor.Your son is very very cute!
I'm so glad I enlarged this - the flowing water and his expression - great shot!
He is a cute little guy and looks very happy now to be in the water. I'm guessing he's hard to get out of it now. :)
In answer to my river's edge shot - yes it is close to where I live.
A wonderful example of what patient love can do. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you for visiting my site and following. I like your story of your boy now wanting to get into the water. My son was the same. Unfortunately for him, my husband didn't have the patience like your friend, and we stopped his lessons.
Last night, I had dinner with two friends from Jakarta. What a coincidence today, i chat with you.
How do you link the logo/picture of the skywatch on to my site?
Cheers,
Ann
