I know this is a very late post, but I still would like to share what went on at Earth Hour 2009. Days before, I already had this great picture in mind: To be gathered around a candle with my family, trying to participate in an event to raise awareness towards the need to take action on climate change. My husband and I tried our best to inform the essence of this event to the children.
Just minutes before Earth Hour my hubby got an emergency call from the office and had to leave, while my daughter was already in her deepest sleep. This left me alone with my 4 year old son. He was watching a Mr. Bean DVD, when it became time to turn off the lights. A little persuasion and he was willing to "play along". It was kind of exciting for him to light on a candle and watching it in the dark... for a couple of minutes! But after that, he began to ask when the lights could be turned on again. So, I told him to be more patience. He finally found some entertainment by playing shadows on the wall. We ended up creating a lot of images and had a great time together, before he got exhausted and went to sleep :).
I would love to share more photos, but it was very difficult for me to take the shots. The photos in the collage were almost invisible. I forgot all about night photography and tried hard to remember my friend Waileng's blog posts about this topic. I hope next time I will be more prepared.

Thank you.
Night photography is tricky, but these are really quite good! Especially the one at the lower right corner. Fantastic shot!
Thank you, Mojo. Your words are very encouraging. It means a lot coming from someone whose photos I really adore!
Nice pictures. The center picture of your son smiling is really sweet.
