Sepia Version of My Daughter Posing at Anyer Beach, 2005

This photo was taken at our family vacation to Anyer Beach in 2005. You can see my daughter posing at a boat named Harum, which means "fragrant" in Indonesia. Below follows the original photo.

Original Version of My Daughter Posing at Anyer Beach, 2005

I actually love the colors in the original version, but there was something about the sky that looked too pale or white to me. I was trying to disguise this with the sepia effect as best as I could. Happy Sepia Scenes, everyone :)!

Oh darling I love the first pic, your girl with that pose and look in sepia. For me, it is a nice one! =)

Sepia's a nice treatment for this shot. I like the color version, and I suspect it would look wonderful in black and white as well. If you start with a good shot, good things happen. And the composition and lighting here are exceptional!

Good Morning!!!! I like the original picture better just because the boat colors are so pretty... BUT--that sepia one is great also. Thanks for sharing!

By the way, your son is just adorable!!!

Hugs,
Betsy

Wonderful shot! I actually think I like the Sepia tone one better only because it gives it such a timeless quality. It could be any girl from any era. Love it.

Great photos and great pose! It looks like she's contemplating whether to return to sea or stay on land. And the boat is so colorful too!

PS In my photo, yes that is water! I made it ambiguous on purpose so that people would take a closer look. I thought it would add to the mystery and tone of the photo.

I like both photos and I understand your decision about sepia.

This is nice in sepia because the shapes are emphasized. But I also like it in colour. ;-)

I like the sepia version best. I like the idea that it could have been taken at any time in the last hundred years.

I like the sepia best. It's really a cute picture of your daughter.

I must admit that I prefer the sepia version because the tones seem to harmonise more! Love the casual pose of your daughter!

Hope you will stop by my blog. I am a new blogger. This is my second month in the world of BLOG. I am great give away this month. This drawing will be the last day of April.
Every comment you leave throughout the month will enter your name in the drawing. This NEW blogger was so touched by all the comments I got on the Blog Party Give Away,(over 300) that I decided to make this a monthly GIFT...
Also, if you mention blog telling about the monthly giveaway, you will have your name entered 10 extra times...Just be sure and let me know that you did. How is that for an incentive?
I was so blown away by all the responses that I wanted to email each person personally... I did love reading all of them..I am continuing to introduce my family members. In May, there will be some fun blogs coming from Disney World with the grandkids. I hope to blog every night, in case you like a good trip report. And there will also be a great Disney giveaway.
I am so thankful for all my new friends.

I think your right, the photo looks great but in sepia it looks even better because of the pale sky.
And I really like the perspective you took the picture!

Love the blue of the original but like even more, the timeless quality of the sepia.

I agree; that when you have a great shot to begin with, then any effect is wonderful. This one looks very nice in Sepia, beautiful daughter.

Isn't she a sweetie! I like both versions of this photo - I like the color of the sepia, but I also like the colors of the boat & water, in the color version! Great job!

I like that effect: it's subtle. I don't like the transformations that over do the colors, or make them obviously too perfectly illuminated.

Well composed and wonderful in sepia!
I love the reflective tone the sepia gives the image as opposed to the vibrant color shot - two moods, two wonderful images!
