I'm pretty sure that almost everyone has met a person like that once in a while.
There will always be some people who like you and some who don't... Because, we just can't control everyone's mind. The important thing is that those with pure heart and faith in you will stay by your side; seeing the facts behind every gossip or rumor. So, don't worry too much about it. Just try to ignore it !
Of course there might be these persons who are more than eager to pull a string around your neck when they are given the slightest chance to gossip. There's no need to stay around them (at least for) all of the time. I know that people at work may be hard to avoid and you've got to bare with them in those couple of hours. Don't let him/her get into you! Why bother about a person whose definitely not worth it and should be no significance to you? Let them talk to the hand !
You could try to spare yourself from allowing gossips or rumors bringing your spirits down by reading April Masini's tips here.
But, if... and just only if... you are the kind of person causing someone else's trouble with irresponsible talk like this (I really hope you're NOT), then let me DARE you to Eliminate Gossip once and for all! Believe it or not, it will make you feel better and helps you to find more friends along the way. Come on, let's change for good!
5 appreciated note(s):
Wonderful post. Thank you.. All my Best
some people would have malicious intent when they gossip while others, merely because it's the only past time they have.
like olden days housewives when they meet at the market and would share news of their love ones and slowly such conversation will migrate to gossips of other housewives. but those time gossips aren't purely poison-mouth, more like tabloids gossiping on celebrity
Yes, not all gossips or rumors start with malicious intentions. I just wish some people would stop crossing the borders... This post was actually based on mother rivalry at my daughter's school. I can't understand why some mothers seem to think of school as a battlefield? It's bad enough that they like to spread negative thoughts about other people's households, but discrediting innocent little children for their hard earned achievements is even more heartless.
Wow ~ "Mother Rivalry" - what a term. I guess, these mothers spread such malicious words about other people's children is nothing more but inferiority complex.
I guess you are right. Last year some of these mothers even got into a physical fight initiated by their own gossip and rumor talks. Not a fine example in front of all these elementary school children. Sometimes I wonder who needs to be more educated...
